Firearms Personal Training, Safety, & Adventure
What we do:
We provide a number of Services.
1. Qualification Training: We provide Pistol or Revolver Qualification Training for Police, Correctional and Security Personnel.
a. Having a difficult time shooting on target and in a timely manner?
b. Are you in need of orientating yourself to a new service revolver or Pistol?
c. Are you looking into Options for a backup pistol or Revolver?
2. Personal Defense Training: We provide real world tactics, and training to assist civilians in developing firearms proficiency. We offer a number of training packages that are design to orientate an individual to their chosen weapon. We offer a large variety and updated weapon systems for your use. We take pride in offering you the option of trying numerous pistols and revolvers before making an investment in your chosen firearm at your favorite Gun Retailer. We understand that what fits your hand, strength, and needs is more important then what is trendy or powerful. “It’s not how Fast , or how powerful your firearm is, it’s where U place your shot, and how many time you hit your target” Mr. Long 1993 New Mexico
3. Hand-to-Hand training or refresher: We offer a training program used by modern mercenaries, and defense contractors. This includes basic and or advanced hand to hand, with rifle, bayonet, open hand, knife, or club. These Hand to Hand techniques can provide a more lethal response when necessary or a non lethal submission techniques if possible or desirable. Hand to Hand Training requires a lengthily evaluation process, and basic Firearms proficiency in either Military/ Law Enforcement Hand Gun, or Civilian Handgun Basic proficiency before application.
4. Yearly Adventure and Fun: Here at Long Outfitters we have a yearly “Blast” or “Shoot Off” where we go out to the middle of nowhere and apply our skills to various inanimate objects, Large Mean Melons, and fun real life Targets in assault simulations. Then at night we hit the town dine and hit the night life. A great yearly release. Shooting, Wine and Song. Sorry no silly Camping or roughing it at night. Sure you will be trekking threw the weeds and the wet humping powerful weapons, and learning reckon, surveillance, and tracking techniques, but we don’t let that interfere with a night filled with wine, women and song! Sorry limited to 8 people per Outing Per year.
5. Goose Shoot Get Together: Nothing like the end of the year goose shoot, we get together early in the morning set up our decoys, make funny sounds to call the geese and blast away. Limit is 2 a day Come out bring some coffee. Limited slots available.
6. Cowboy Action Shooting: We provide real Colt Single Action Armies in a variety of caliber and barrel length options, give a few a try before you, choose one for your competition. We also offer a number of Lever action options to choose from. This gives you a chance to really get a feel for the Peacemaker.
7. Ghost Town Adventure / Off the Grid Survival Course: Invitation only. We spend a number of nights off the grid, no plumbing, no running water, no cell phone coverage. Learn to survive in an old mining town. Learn how to get threw lack of power , water , with simulated hostiles , in both day and night. Survive the REAL ! Bears and Simulated Hostile Natives.
What we do not do:
1. We do not sell firearms; however we can point you to local dealers that offer great service, and pricing.
2. We do not train everyone, do to time restraints Law enforcement, Correctional, or Security, Or Government Personnel receive priority slots for training for qualification, or new firearm orientation. Out country is in another conflict, and our Men and Women in uniform come first for specialized one on one training, and familiarization.
3. We do not offer any fully automatic weapons for training or familiarization. Nevada or the Military is the place to go for that.
4. We do not guarantee, nor just hand out proficiency awards, you must earn them.
5. We do not advocate the use of violence on anyone or anything, civil disobedience, or aggression against anyone for any reason, but self defense or necessary in the performance of your sanctioned duty.
6. We do not discriminate by race, color nor creed, political affiliation, or social economic status. Our fees and training are the same for everyone, every time, and adjusted slightly to the needs of the client.
7. We do not take safety lightly. Safety, and combat not target accuracy are key to our training
Firearms Training:
We offer a number of environments for training:
Indoor range:
25 yard This range is for Pistol Caliber firearms only. Pistol, or Rifle.
Outdoor ranges:
25 yard Pistol
50 yard rifle
100 yard rifle
200 yard rifle
600 yard rifle * Must be qualified on 200 yard range to use
Training on weapons includes an overview of the breakdown and maintenance of each and every firearm trained on. It is important to know how to dissemble, clean, make field fixes, to your weapon choices. Maintenance of weapons are as important as learning how to aim, and fire in numerous positions angle and techniques.
We offer a wide range of modern and old west Weapons for your use while being trained. These house weapons are available for field testing, and or full orientation, and qualification with.
Training Packages
Basic Qualification Training and Refresher:
The basic qualification training and refresher, is designed to adjust your current shooting technique to improve your shooting results. Providing assistance in stance, and how the weapon is grasped, and fired, along with various techniques for site pictures. Your instructor will provide tips, and practice to help insure your “pass” your firearm qualification.
Basic Firearms Familiarization and Qualification:
This training will provide you with Basic field stripping and maintenance of a pistol or revolver of your choice from our list, or your own. Also tips and instructions on how to best use the weapon in, both Self defense, and target shooting. This will include tips and instruction on stances, grips, and site picture. Also instruction on the use of the weapon from real life situations, such as firing from the hip, and point shooting.
Cowboy Action Shooting Single Action Army Familiarization and Qualification
A big part of picking out the proper 2 revolver rig is to determine the proper caliber for your needs. Competition and Personal Protection may demand different Caliber selections. Take part in a Familiarization with the take down, maintenance and operation of the Colt Single Action Army. Then fire numerous caliber selections to help U determine you specific comfort level. Shotgun Training
We offer a number of fun shotgun activities:
1. Personal clay shooting orientation and training:
We will work with you one on one to learn basic shotgun skills in regards to aiming and hitting clay birds.
2. Clay Shooting: Five position single clay shooting with up to 4 others in your firing group.
3. Sporting Clays: 10 station sporting clays shoot. 100 shotgun # 7 1/2, 8 or 9 shot will be fired.
